Proceeds from DEC Unaffiliated Dressage Competition to provide DEC horses with essential equipment

We’re delighted to announce that we have raised a fantastic £300 profit at the Unaffiliated Dressage Competition on Sunday 9th May 2021.

During Horse Care and Horse Management courses at Doncaster Equine College (DEC) many learners receive the chance to organise, and take part in, competitions. Taking part in competitions allows learners to gain experience in turning-out horses to a high standard and riding in a competitive environment. The hard work and dedication that many learners demonstrated on the run-up and during this competition was fantastic, and therefore the profit from the Dressage Competition will be put towards competition equipment for our horses including browbands, showing numnahs, showing reins, etc.

A big thank you to the dressage judge on the day, Deborah Howson, who is a great supporter of DEC and the learners. Deborah also waived her travel costs for the day, which is a very generous gesture.

We were also delighted to feature DEC browbands on both Showboating and Linford. These browbands are made by former DEC learner Sian and ahead of the DEC Annual Show on Sunday 6th June, more browbands will be made in the DEC colours to feature of all our horse’s and pony’s bridles. Sian began making browbands following a visit from a professional browband maker during her course at DEC, and she has continued to excel with her designs and we are proud to support her.

We would like to thank all competitors who took part in the event and supporting Doncaster Equine College and we look forward to welcoming many back from the DEC Annual Show on Sunday 6th June.
